"In Fajara alone, power consumption is over 240,000 kilowatts per month which eventually brings the annual energy bill to a substantial figure.
After this solar power project is commissioned and fully operational, we expect to optimally produce 120 megawatts per annum to make savings up to 5% of the energy bill and also increase our overall energy capacity as we are constantly growing.
We aim to increase this system to produce at least 25% of our annual energy consumption."
"Brazil’s government will seek views on the potential of solar-plus-biofuel projects after two such hybrids reaped large-scale contracts at a state-level auction.
Projects combining both power sources were last Friday among the winners of a 263.5MW tender in Roraima, an Amazon state that is Brazil’s most northerly and least populated.
As noted by energy minister Bento Albuquerque, the contracts to solar-plus-biofuel projects by BBF (56MW) and Enerplan (11MW) mark a first for Brazil."
"Demand for more reliable electricity from a district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, a federal subject of Russia, will soon be answered by the largest hybrid solar and energy storage project in the region to date. [...]
The company recently commissioned a 60MW solar PV project in the Akhtuba district of the Astrakhan region of Russia and has significant PV ambitions in Kazakhstan. It has also completed a 35MW solar project in Bashkortostan in 2017."
"Perth-based Hybrid Systems and BayWa r.e. have reaped the lion’s share of the first round of a program to roll out 'standalone power systems' (SPS) across Western Australia.
