25 MWp Phase I of 117 MWp Mailo PV Plant in Zambia

Application
Utility-scale solar plant
The Context
- Product: ePowerControl PPC + ePowerSCADA
+ ePowerMonitor
With an installed capacity of 25 MW, the Mailo PV Plant will deliver reliable, renewable energy to Zambia’s national grid (ZESCO), contributing to the country’s growing electricity demand and supporting its climate objectives.
As part of Phase 1, Elum Energy’s ePowerControl PPC has been specifically developed to ensure full compliance with the Zambia grid code. This system enables real-time control of active and reactive power, ensuring adherence to grid requirements while optimising overall plant performance.
In parallel, ePowerSCADA, the operator’s manual interface based in the control room, and ePowerMonitor, our cloud-based monitoring platform, provide advanced monitoring, data visualization, and both on-site and remote control. These tools are custom-designed to enhance the plant’s operational efficiency and safety.
- Phase one project layout:
- PV 25.04 MWp out of 117 MWp
- Inverters: 81 x Huawei, SUN2000-330KTL-H2
- Transformer: 4 x Huawei, JUPITER-6000K-H1
