The Context

A service station in Aguas Verdes, Chile, integrates solar PV, gensets, and BESS to optimize energy management and ensure reliable power. The system operates in two modes: BESS Prime for peak shaving and grid stability, and Genset Prime for backup during outages or high demand.
Managed by Elum’s ePowerControl PPC, the system smoothly transitions between modes, adjusts PV output to match demand, optimizes BESS cycles, and reduces genset fuel consumption. This setup improves energy reliability and lowers operational costs by minimizing grid dependence during peak hours.
