ePowerControl MC for hotel in Nigeria

Application
Multiple Gensets Controller

The Context

The Elum Energy EMS was successfully deployed at Kensington Hotel in Owerri, Nigeria, helping to ensure continuous power availability and sustainability.

The microgrid operates in three optimized operating modes. In Grid Prime mode, the grid serves as the primary power source, while the solar PV system and BESS support the load and reduce dependence on the grid. In BESS Prime mode, the battery system becomes the primary power source, with solar PV charging the batteries and supporting the load. In Genset Prime mode, the generator operates only when required, while the solar and battery systems minimize generator runtime.

The ePowerControl MC enables smooth and fully automated transitions between all operating modes, including automated black start and seamless grid reconnection. It also delivers advanced battery time-of-use management, state-of-charge target setting and equalization, and grid reactive power control to enhance power quality and overall system efficiency.

In addition, the system is equipped with the ePowerMonitor, which provides data visualization of all connected devices. This centralized monitoring platform offers clear visibility into system status, performance, and energy flows, enabling more efficient energy layout management, faster fault detection, and informed operational decision-making.
