1. Sinexcel

Sinexcel maintains its lead, accounting for 37% of the projects surveyed. Renowned for their energy internet core power solutions, Sinexcel’s hybrid inverters remain a popular choice, especially favoured in APAC and West Africa. The company’s bi-directional power conversion systems cater to diverse needs, from grid support to microgrids and EV charging stations.

2. Sungrow

Sungrow climbs up the ranks to secure the second spot, garnering 17% of the project quotations. Widely used in Asia, Sungrow’s influence has expanded in these regions, demonstrating its versatility and reliability in diverse environments. In terms of market share, Huawei also stands third with 9%.

4. ATESS

ATESS maintains its fourth position but has increased to 10% of our quotations in 2023. Notably, ATESS has unveiled its PCS1000, a 1 MW bidirectional battery inverter tailored for commercial and industrial applications, boasting an impressive 99% efficiency rating as per the company’s claims. Based on our quotations analysis, Atess continues to be the preferred brand within Southern Africa.

5. SMA

SMA sustains its presence within the top 5, with a marginal rise from 5% in 2022 to 6% in 2023. SMA introduced a modular lithium-ion solution tailored for commercial storage applications. Available in two versions with capacities of 32 kWh and 56 kWh, these variants integrate SMA Sunny Tripower Storage X battery inverters, ensuring up to 8,000 complete charge cycles.
